Robert Ray is a rising Mexican-American country singer and songwriter from Alice, TX. At just 25 years old, Robert has already released two EP's independently, with five radio singles achieving Top 10 or better on the charts. Four of those singles, “Drunk Enough”, “Two-Steppin at a Time”,“Good Country Song”, and “I Found You” hit #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report Chart, while one single, “Run Away with You”, reached the #2 position. Robert was also nominated for “Male Vocalist of the Year” by the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards, as well as “Video of the Year” nominations for “Run Away with You” and “Good Country Song”.
Robert Ray is a 2017 Graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, earning a bachelor's degree in Industrial Management and Technology with a minor in Business Administration. In addition, Robert was recently the recipient of “The Rising Star Award” by the Texas A&M University Alumni Association. The culmination of his hard work, non-stop touring, and radio success have cemented Robert's place at the forefront of the Texas Country Music scene.
Evidence of Robert's traditional country influence is apparent in all of his early songs. However, for his latest single, "Think About You", Robert explores a more modern sound that will appeal to the new country generation, as well as the traditional country fans.
"I feel like I'm on the verge of finding that wider audience, but I also don't want to stray too far from my heritage or my Tex-Mex roots", says Robert.
"For my new song Think About You, I'll be releasing both a full English version and a 'Spanglish' version, where I sing the second verse and second chorus entirely in Spanish", adds Robert.
"It's me and my management team's intention to push the envelope and boundaries of where the country genre is and to shake things up a bit," concludes Robert.
"Think About You" features Grammy award-winning guitarist Chris Perez (husband to the late Tejano superstar SELENA), and bass player Matt Noveskey of platinum selling band Blue October.
"Think About You" will be serviced to Country Radio nationally mid-August 2020.
